Atomic absorption analysis is considered to be the most effective method for the detection of firearm discharge residue on the skin or clothing of a suspect This process detects the presence of barium, antimony, copper and lead. Upon detonation of a cartridge, these elements are deposited on the shooter’s hands. Use the kit to swab the suspect’s hands and then submit the samples taken to the laboratory for analysis.
